Bible Saturated
The importance of knowing Christ Jesus cannot be understated. He, as the head of the church, is the embodiment of truth and source of true life. For the church to stand as a pillar and buttress of the truth, she must know Christ deeply through the ultimate source of truth. The Bible makes no hesitation in its claims to be the very words of God, breathed out by Him to provide His people with all the need for life and godliness (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Because it is the very word of God, it is the true source of understanding who God is, the final authority on all matters of life and faith, and sufficient to guide God’s people to their ultimate joy and satisfaction in Christ. The authority and sufficiency of Scripture points to the need for all of the redeemed to be saturated in it.
The Scriptures must engulf all of ministry as that which revives a weary soul, provides wisdom, rejoices the heart, and enlightens the eyes (Ps. 19:7-8). Therefore, everything the church does should be influenced by what is seen in Scripture, infused with what is taught from Scripture, and engulfed with the only true God revealed through Scripture.
